Chewbacca now Smokey

Chewie had one amazing story. He was thought to have been blind as a pup. one of our volunteers agreed to foster Chewie and bring him to an eye clinic in NH with one of the best Optimologist’s in New England.
Chewie’s eyes were deemed healthy, and soon he was looking into his new adopter’s eyes in 2006. Here is what she had to say:

“Smokey brings more joy in my life and is such a sweat loveable dog, it’s so hard to comprehend someone just dropping him off;o( He’s really a beautiful dog too, not just personality, but his markings.
Our dog Shadow was really special, and it was so hard to loose him. When it came time to find a new puppy I knew I’d have to find a really special one, and when I saw “Chewbacca“s photo I knew it was him. I think because he was a rescue dog, it makes him that more special to us. A very small way we could repay Shadow for the love he gave us, give it back to his kind. Don’t know if that makes sense to you, but it’s how I feel. Smokey is very deeply loved and boy does he know it, lol.
Sallie “
